Acting as a caring host, she stages participatory banquets with homemade food and interactive objects offered to willing participants, whose interactions she documents and later translates into her work. By observing the leftover mess and traces of consumption, Messina explores the emotional and psychological dimensions of human relationships, rendering them through deformed still-life compositions and super-saturated colors that reveal a psychedelic, absurdist vision of reality.
